After being invited out again by a Sheriff's Deputy for another ride-along, we were told by his boss that citizens are only allowed one ride per month! What purpose could that possibly serve?

So today (exactly one month from my last application), I will turn in another request to the Sheriff's Department. Suits me fine. If they want to do more paperwork EVERY month, more power to them.

I have been working out on the treadmill for a few weeks now and will be adding weights soon. I still need to go see the cardiac rhythm specialist at the end of this month to be cleared for more rigorous activity but I have started out slowly. I hope to build my cardio up over the next 8 months so that I can run at least a 10-minute mile. If I can get to that point by the end of the year, I'll be good to go for the police academy next year. They have a night class starting in Feb or March that I am shooting for.

My parents will be visiting us this coming Sunday and staying for about a week. My family has been looking forward to it for quite a while now. They have not seen the kids for quite some time now. I am hoping they will see a big difference in my appearance since I was about 35 pounds heavier the last time they saw me. We have some fun things planned and I desperately need a mini-vacation!
